OpenAI launched a new suite of personal finance tools for ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the United States on Friday afternoon to improve user tracking. These tools allow users to link their private bank accounts directly to the chatbot interface while maintaining a secure connection to their assets.
Users connect to 12,000 institutions through the Plaid data network to manage their monthly investments and daily spending habits within a single app. So, this includes Chase and Fidelity.
Now the platform reveals real-time spending habits and portfolio performance to help users with their long-term budget planning and overall debt reduction. It tracks recurring bills.
But OpenAI anchors this feature in the new GPT-5.5 model to ensure accuracy during complex financial reasoning tasks and diverse data queries. It uses technology from Hiro.
Pro subscribers can start by typing "@Finances" into any chat window to activate the new personal dashboard on their preferred mobile devices. The bot then triggers logins.
And OpenAI plans to add support for Intuit later this year to enable complex tax impact analysis for every active subscriber on the plan. This will provide credit data.
Security protocols allow users to delete their financial data at any time through the main settings page located inside the mobile application. OpenAI masks private details.
Now the firm stands ready to refine these tools based on feedback before a wider rollout happens across the world next year. It wants to beat rivals.
